Marble pavers bring a cool, elegant look to Florida pool decks and patios, but they need different care than concrete pavers. Marble is softer, more porous, and reacts to acids, so the wrong cleaner or sealer can etch, cloud, or peel.
Our marble work is all outdoors: pool decks, coping, patios, entries, and outdoor kitchens. Indoor marble floors, countertops, honing, and polishing aren't services we offer.
Our Marble Sealing Process
- Identify and test. We confirm the stone type and finish, then test cleaner and sealer on a small area.
- Stone-safe cleaning. Gentle cleaners and controlled pressure remove dirt, algae, and mildew.
- Stain treatment. Rust and mineral deposits are treated with marble-safe products.
- Penetrating sealer. A breathable sealer such as Trident Break Wall or Sea Wall soaks in and repels water and salt.

Why We Don't Use Wet Look Sealer on Marble
Film-forming wet look sealers are great on concrete pavers, but Trident's own data sheet for Hurricane CAT 5 says it isn't recommended for marble or polished and honed stone. Penetrating sealers protect marble without a film. Compare options on our marble and stone sealing products page.
Sandblasted and Tumbled Marble
Textured marble finishes are popular around pools because they offer better grip. They still need sealing, and their texture holds dirt, so cleaning matters. Learn about sandblasted marble.
Sealing Marble Pool Coping and Outdoor Marble
Pool coping takes more punishment than any other marble on the property: constant splash-out, salt or chlorine, sunscreen, and bare feet. Marble is a calcium-based stone, so acids etch it and salt left to dry in the pores can cause flaking over time.
- Clean with stone-safe products only. No vinegar, lemon, or acid-based rust and efflorescence removers.
- Seal with a breathable, penetrating sealer that protects without a slippery film, including the bullnose edge and the face of the coping.
- Rinse coping with fresh water often, especially on salt water pools.
- Repair loose coping first. Sealing over loose or cracked pieces locks the problem in; see travertine and marble repairs.

Slip-Resistant Coatings for Marble
Smooth marble is one of the slickest surfaces when wet. We prep marble with stone-safe cleaners only and always start with a test area. We now offer slip-resistant coatings for travertine, marble, natural stone, and pavers, using clear Cobble Grip by SurfaceLogix with a non-skid additive in the final coat. It's an add-on for an additional charge, listed separately on your estimate. Learn about slip resistant coatings or read how we make pool decks safer.

5/5 Stars – Exceptional Quality and True Professionals!
Sam and Steve did an incredible job sealing our new travertine pool deck and lanai. From start to finish, their level of service, expertise, and attention to detail were second to none.
What really set them apart:
- Next-Level Thoroughness & Modern Solutions: Sam took a sample of our actual travertine, had Steve work on it off-site, and brought it back to us so we could evaluate the non-skid finish in advance of any work being done. They even brought in newer, cutting-edge products to give us the best and most up-to-date options on the market.
- Miracle Stain Removal: We had a stubborn box stain that my wife and I spent hours trying to remove using a professional product, with zero luck. Sam and Steve worked their magic, and the spot is now completely invisible!
- Seamless Experience: They were quick with pricing, prompt with scheduling, meticulous during the application, and left the entire area spotless when they finished.
They came highly recommended to us by a trusted friend, the owner of local pool company we’ve known for 50 years, and their results completely speak for themselves. If you need travertine sealing (pavers too) or restoration, look no further than Sam and Steve we will definitely be repeat customers!

Marble Paver Sealing FAQs
Do marble pavers need to be sealed?
Yes, outdoor marble is porous and absorbs water, pool chemicals, and stains. A penetrating sealer reduces absorption and makes the stone easier to keep clean. Already stained? Start with stain removal for marble.
Will sealing change the color of my marble?
Not with an invisible penetrating sealer. If you'd like richer color, we can discuss enhancing options and test a small area first.
Can you clean marble without damaging it?
Yes. Marble reacts to acids, so we use stone-safe cleaners and controlled pressure, and test first.
Do you serve my area for marble sealing?
We seal marble across Tampa Bay, including Tampa, Brandon, Riverview, Apollo Beach, Lithia, and Wesley Chapel. See all service areas.
Do you guarantee your work?
Can marble pool coping be sealed?
Yes. We clean it with stone-safe products and seal it with a breathable, penetrating sealer, including the bullnose edge and coping face.
Why is my marble coping flaking?
Salt drying inside the stone and acidic cleaners are common causes. Rinsing often with fresh water and keeping the stone sealed helps slow it.
Can marble pool decks get a slip-resistant coating?
Yes, after a test area. We prep marble with stone-safe cleaners only, then apply a clear Cobble Grip coating with non-skid additive in the final coat. Learn about slip resistant coatings.
