Light marble shows every stain. Marble is a calcium-based stone, so the strong acid cleaners used on concrete will etch it and leave dull spots. We remove stains from outdoor marble with low-pressure, stone-safe cleaning and treatments matched to each stain. Then we seal it so new spills stay at the surface.
Marble Stains We Remove
| Stain | Common Cause |
|---|---|
| Orange rust | Well-water sprinklers, metal furniture, fertilizer |
| Brown leaf and tannin stains | Oak leaves and other trees |
| Black mildew and green algae | Shade, irrigation, and humidity |
| Oil and grease | Grills, outdoor kitchens, and sunscreen |
| Pool chemical and calcium deposits | Splash-out and hard water around the pool |
Is the whole deck turning yellow instead of one spot? That is a different problem. Read why outdoor marble turns yellow.

How We Remove Stains From Marble
- Identify first. We check the stain and the finish, whether polished, tumbled, or sandblasted marble.
- Test in a hidden spot. Every treatment is tried on a small area before the whole surface.
- Clean at low pressure. Stone-safe cleaners, no harsh acids on marble.
- Draw out deep stains. Stains that soaked in get a poultice that pulls them up as it dries. Some take more than one round. See how a poultice works on outdoor marble.
- Point out the source. A sprinkler spraying well water or a dripping grill will bring the stain back, so we show you what to change.
Stains vs. Etch Marks
Not every mark on marble is a stain. Dull, light spots from lemon juice, wine, or pool chemicals are usually etch marks, where the surface itself was eaten away. Stain removal won't fix etching. We'll tell you which is which at your estimate. Learn more about etching on travertine and marble.
Seal After Marble Stain Removal
Once the stains are out and the stone is dry, we apply a penetrating sealer. It soaks into the marble instead of leaving a wet-look film, so the stone keeps its natural look. Sealing keeps new spills at the surface where they wipe up. See marble sealing and natural stone sealing. Pool deck slick when wet? Add a slip-resistant coating for marble.

What Our Stone Customers Say
Steve and Sam Sadler were great. We recently moved into our home and had stained and dingy pavers around the entire pool deck. Many weeds starting to pop up between the joints of the pavers in many areas. Steve thoroughly explained the multi step procedure to clean, resand and seal the pavers. They arrived exactly when they said and were very efficient and thorough! They cleaned up entire area when they were done and the pool deck looks amazing. Highly recommend this company and these brothers. Fee was more than reasonable for the work that was done. Very pleased with the whole experience!
Sam & Steve did a great job, worked fast, removed all stains, and applied 3 coats of sealer. The pavers actually sparkle in the sun with the paver color shining throughout the pool deck. I was worried about the sand used around the pool area, but when they were done it was not gritty, and looked sharp. They did a wonderful job, highly recommended, and will use them again when needed again.
While calling around for estimates for my new paver pool deck, Steve came out quickly and was very knowledgeable in his craft. He explained everything perfectly and even added cleaning my brick grill for no extra charge. And while most places will make a mess of the dirt and sand which all ends up in the pool while cleaning, they even vacuum the pool to clean any dirt they added themselves! Steve and Sam did a great job in removing the stains from the pavers and the sealing itself and did it all in one day. Nobody had to “come back tomorrow to finish it up”. I would highly recommend Paver Sealing Florida for any sealing job you need done!

Marble Stain Removal FAQs
Can stains be removed from outdoor marble?
Most can be removed or greatly lightened. Deep, old stains may need more than one treatment, and some lighten rather than fully disappear.
Will stain removal damage my marble?
Not with stone-safe products. Acidic cleaners etch marble, so we use low pressure and stone-safe treatments and test a hidden spot first.
How do you get rust out of marble?
With a rust treatment that is safe for marble. Most rust removers are acidic and will etch it, so we never use them on marble.
Why do stains keep coming back on my marble?
Usually the source is still there, like a sprinkler spraying well water or leaves sitting on the deck. Sealing after removal makes new stains easier to clean.
Should marble be sealed after stain removal?
Yes. Once the stain is out and the stone is dry, a penetrating sealer keeps new spills at the surface. Sealing before removal locks the stain in.
Do you remove stains from indoor marble or countertops?
No. We work on exterior marble only: pool decks, patios, lanais, walkways, entries, and pool coping.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Paver Sealing Florida is licensed and insured for all Florida counties, and we provide a vendor packet on request for HOAs, property managers, and commercial clients.
