Wet pavers and stone can feel slick, especially around the pool or in shady spots that stay damp. We now offer slip-resistant coatings for travertine, marble, natural stone, and pavers, so your family and guests have steadier footing when the deck is wet.
Our Coating: Cobble Grip by SurfaceLogix
Our coating of choice is Cobble Grip by SurfaceLogix, a clear, water-based sealer that dries to a semi-gloss sheen. We mix SurfaceLogix's non-skid additive into the final coat, which leaves a fine texture for better grip. On paver decks that also need hard joint sand, we can add grip to Trident Hurricane CAT 5 instead. Read how we make pool decks safer.
How It Works
We clean off algae, mildew, and old failing sealer first, then apply thin, even coats. A fine non-skid additive goes into the final coat and adds a light texture to the surface, which gives bare feet and shoes more grip when wet. On travertine and marble we use stone-safe prep and start with a test area. No coating makes a wet surface slip-proof, but this makes a real difference.

When We Recommend It
- Pool decks and spa surrounds
- Walkways, steps, and front entries
- Shady areas under trees or lanai roofs
- Wet-look and high-gloss finishes
- Homes with young children or older family members

Choosing a Non-Slip Pool Deck Sealer
- Grit in the final coat does more for traction than the sealer brand alone.
- Lower sheen grips better than high gloss when wet.
- Thin, even coats keep the surface texture; heavy buildup fills it in and gets slick.
- Breathable sealers on stone keep travertine from clouding while grit adds grip.
For travertine, marble, natural stone, and pavers, we use Cobble Grip with non-skid additive. On paver decks that need joint stabilization, we can add grit to Hurricane CAT 5. Read pool deck slip safety.
Customer Reviews: Slip Resistant Sealing
What a blessing to have such dedicated professionals as Steve and Sam, who go above and beyond to deliver a superb and thorough service. I knew from using them previously that they were proficient, but they surprised me by adding new technology to their cleaning and sealing. The pool cleaning was an added bonus, as was the selection of sand tints tailored to the paver tones. As usual, they surpassed my expectations by also pressure washing my pool screens, filtering out sealer from my filtration system, and vacuuming out sand from my slider door tracks. They are the best and their prices are very competitive.
These guys are the best! They took the time to explain the process and why the exact steps where needed.
My pavers were disgusting but they were able to "bring them back" and they now look new again.
They stripped the old sealant, removed all stains, treated my pavers for efluorescence, did another treatment that cleaned the pavers, sanded the joints and then applied the sealant.
They cleaned the work area and vaccummed the pool to remove any sand or debris that may have entered the pool during treatment.
I would highly recommend these two old guys!
Fantastic job! Very happy with the work. They re-sanded and added three coats of sealer to our pavers. The sealer even hid a few acid stains we had from pool chemicals. You can hardly see it now. They took a lot of care around our pool - using their own vacuum to help keep sand out of the system and a filter to keep the sealer from being recycled through the skimmer. I am super happy with how it turned out and will be calling them back again when it’s time to reseal in a few years :) Thank you!!!

Slip Resistant Coatings FAQs
How much does slip resistance cost?
It's an add-on with an additional charge based on the size of the area. We'll include it as a separate line on your written estimate so you can decide.
Will I be able to see or feel the slip resistant additive?
You may feel a slightly textured surface underfoot, which is what provides the extra grip. It's designed to blend in with the sealer finish.
Where is slip resistance most helpful?
Pool decks, walkways, front entries, steps, and shady areas that stay damp. It's especially helpful in homes with young children or older family members.
Do all sealers make pavers slippery?
No, but glossy finishes and heavy coats can feel slick when wet. Trident notes that excessive application can make a surface slippery and that some surfaces may need an anti-slip additive.
Do you guarantee your work?
What is the best non-slip sealer for a pool deck?
A quality sealer with a slip-resistant grit in the final coat, applied in thin coats with a lower sheen.
What slip-resistant coating do you use?
Cobble Grip by SurfaceLogix, a clear, water-based sealer, with SurfaceLogix non-skid additive mixed into the final coat. See Cobble Grip details.
Can you put a slip-resistant coating on travertine or marble?
Yes. We coat travertine, marble, natural stone, and pavers. Stone gets stone-safe cleaning, and we always start marble with a test area.
How soon can we use the pool after the coating?
The coating is dry to the touch in about an hour and fully cures in 48 to 72 hours. We will tell you when furniture can go back and the deck is ready.
