Stains are one of the main reasons pavers and stone look old. The good news: most are treatable, and treating them before sealing keeps them from being locked in.
Stains We Treat
| Stain | Common Cause |
|---|---|
| Orange rust | Well-water irrigation, fertilizer, metal furniture |
| Oil and tire marks | Vehicles on driveways |
| Black mildew and green algae | Shade, irrigation, humidity |
| White haze (efflorescence) | Salts rising from pavers or mortar |
| Leaf and tannin stains | Oaks and other trees |

Surface-Safe Treatment
Concrete pavers can handle stronger rust removers. Travertine, marble, and limestone can't, because acids etch calcium-based stone. For marble, see our marble stain removal service. We identify the surface and stain, test, and then treat. Learn more in how to remove rust stains from pavers and about efflorescence.
Seal After Stain Removal
Once stains are gone, sealing makes new ones easier to clean. See brick paver sealing and travertine sealing.

Customer Reviews: Rust & Stain Removal
Steve and Sam Sadler were great. We recently moved into our home and had stained and dingy pavers around the entire pool deck. Many weeds starting to pop up between the joints of the pavers in many areas. Steve thoroughly explained the multi step procedure to clean, resand and seal the pavers. They arrived exactly when they said and were very efficient and thorough! They cleaned up entire area when they were done and the pool deck looks amazing. Highly recommend this company and these brothers. Fee was more than reasonable for the work that was done. Very pleased with the whole experience!
Sam & Steve did a great job, worked fast, removed all stains, and applied 3 coats of sealer. The pavers actually sparkle in the sun with the paver color shining throughout the pool deck. I was worried about the sand used around the pool area, but when they were done it was not gritty, and looked sharp. They did a wonderful job, highly recommended, and will use them again when needed again.
While calling around for estimates for my new paver pool deck, Steve came out quickly and was very knowledgeable in his craft. He explained everything perfectly and even added cleaning my brick grill for no extra charge. And while most places will make a mess of the dirt and sand which all ends up in the pool while cleaning, they even vacuum the pool to clean any dirt they added themselves! Steve and Sam did a great job in removing the stains from the pavers and the sealing itself and did it all in one day. Nobody had to “come back tomorrow to finish it up”. I would highly recommend Paver Sealing Florida for any sealing job you need done!

Rust & Stain Removal FAQs
Can rust stains be removed from pavers?
Most rust stains can be removed or greatly reduced with a rust remover matched to the surface. Deep, old stains may lighten rather than disappear.
Is rust removal safe for travertine and marble?
Only with stone-safe products. Many rust removers are acidic and can etch calcium-based stone, so we test first.
Will the rust come back?
If sprinklers keep spraying well water on the pavers, yes. Redirecting sprinklers or adding an iron filter helps, and sealing makes future stains easier to clean.
Do you remove stains before sealing?
Always. Sealer locks in whatever is on the surface, so stains are treated first.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Paver Sealing Florida is licensed and insured for all Florida counties, and we provide a vendor packet on request for HOAs, property managers, and commercial clients.
