Travertine and marble pool decks are beautiful, but natural stone can crack, loosen, and settle over time. Loose coping, rocking stones, and uneven areas are safety problems as well as eyesores, and they should be fixed before any sealing.
We work with the highest rated local paver and stone installers to assure your repairs are done correctly before sealing. We plan the repair with you, coordinate the installer, and then clean and seal the whole surface.
Common Travertine and Marble Repairs
- Loose or rocking stones on pool decks and patios
- Cracked or chipped travertine replaced with matching stone
- Loose pool coping reset in fresh mortar
- Uneven or settled areas re-leveled
- Missing or washed-out joints refilled

Repair, Then Clean and Seal
- Inspect. We look at the stone, coping, joints, and drainage to find the cause.
- Repair. The installer resets, replaces, or re-levels stones as needed.
- Clean with stone-safe products. Travertine and marble react to acids, so we use cleaners made for natural stone.
- Seal. A breathable penetrating or enhancing sealer protects the stone. See travertine sealing and marble paver sealing.
Concrete pavers instead?

Grout and Joint Repair for Stone Decks
How joints are repaired depends on how the stone was installed:
- Sand-set travertine pavers: joints are re-sanded and stabilized with sealer, like concrete pavers.
- Mortar-set travertine or marble: cracked or missing grout is cut out and replaced with color-matched grout, then sealed.
- Coping joints: joints between coping and the pool beam are often caulked and are checked for gaps that let water behind the stone.
Joint repairs are coordinated before cleaning and sealing so the new grout or sand is protected by the fresh seal.

They took the time to thoroughly clean the surface, and address problem areas. The sealant they use is fantastic. Does not leave a thick film. Our travertine looks brand new, with a beautiful, natural finish that really enhances the entire pool area. You can tell they take pride in their work, and it shows in the final result. Reasonably priced too!

Travertine & Marble Repairs FAQs
Do you repair travertine and marble yourselves?
We work with the highest rated local paver and stone installers to assure your repairs are done correctly before sealing. We coordinate the work, then clean and seal the stone.
Can cracked travertine be replaced?
Yes. Individual stones can usually be removed and replaced. Color can vary between batches of natural stone, so we look for the closest match, often from leftover stones you may have stored.
Why is my travertine coping loose?
Coping is usually set in mortar, and heat, water, and movement can break that bond over time. Loose coping should be reset before sealing, both for safety and to keep water out.
Should I seal travertine after repairs?
Yes. Sealing after repairs protects the new and old stone together and helps the repair blend in.
Do you guarantee your work?
Can cracked grout in a travertine deck be repaired?
Yes. On mortar-set stone, cracked or missing grout is removed and replaced with color-matched grout before cleaning and sealing.
