Sealing makes pavers look great, but it can't fix a low spot, a sunken edge, or a cracked paver. Those problems need to be repaired first, or the sealer simply locks them in. That's why we offer paver repairs and leveling as part of our paver restoration service.
We work with the highest rated local paver installers to assure your repairs are done correctly before sealing. We plan the repair with you, coordinate the installer, and then clean, sand, and seal the whole area so it looks like one finished surface.
Common Paver Repairs
- Sunken or settled pavers in driveways, walkways, and pool decks
- Trip hazards where an edge has lifted
- Cracked or broken pavers replaced with a matching paver
- Loose edges where the edge restraint has failed
- Pavers lifted by tree roots
- Low spots that hold water after rain

How Paver Re-Leveling Works
- Inspect. We find the cause: washed-out sand, a soft base, roots, or drainage.
- Lift and rebuild. The installer removes the pavers, corrects the base, and resets them level.
- Re-sand the joints. ASTM C144 joint sand is washed into every joint for tight compaction.
- Clean and seal. We clean the whole surface and apply a joint-stabilizing Trident sealer.
Why Repair Before You Seal
A joint-stabilizing sealer hardens the sand and locks pavers in place. That's exactly what you want on a level surface, and exactly what you don't want on a sunken one. Repairing first saves you from paying to seal twice. See our brick paver sealing and driveway paver sealing services.
Travertine or marble that needs repair?
Natural stone has its own repair needs, from cracked coping to loose pool deck stones. See travertine and marble repairs and leveling.
Replace One Cracked Paver or Redo the Area?
| What You See | Usual Fix |
|---|---|
| One or two cracked pavers on a level surface | Pull and replace just those pavers |
| Cracks along a tire path or in a cluster | Lift the area, re-compact the base, and reset |
| Cracks plus sinking or dips | Base repair; replacing pavers alone won't last |
| Cracked border or edge pavers | Reset with proper edge restraint |
Replacement pavers usually look brighter at first, because the old ones have faded. Cleaning and sealing the whole area afterward blends the color. If you have leftover pavers from the original install, keep them; they're the closest match.

Customer Reviews: Paver Repairs & Leveling
Sam and Steve were great. They explained the entire process. They were very reliable arriving when they said they would and completed the job in a timely matter. They put back the furniture and even washed the windows near where they worked. We HIGHLY recomment them.
I want to say we had a very good experience with Steven. He came out within a day of me calling him, he gave us a estimate and came out as soon as he could. They had the job done in a day and it ended up being the exact amount of the estimate. My wife and I are so happy with the work.
We needed to have our pool deck pavers completely refinished. We called three companies to compare quotes. Two were "full service" providers (move patio furniture on/off, clean pool after job was complete), but their prices were SIGNIFICANTLY higher. Steven did an EXCELLENT, PROFESSIONAL job using the same product materials as the high priced competitors. We moved the furniture and cleaned the pool ourselves and saved MANY hundreds of dollars. We will be recommending his services to all of our friends and neighbors. Thank you, Steven!

Paver Repairs & Leveling FAQs
Do you repair pavers yourselves?
We work with the highest rated local paver installers to assure your repairs are done correctly before sealing. We coordinate the repair, then clean, sand, and seal so the whole surface matches.
Why do pavers sink or shift?
Usually because joint sand washed out, the base under the pavers settled, roots pushed up, or water drained under an edge. Fixing the base and joints is what keeps the repair from coming back.
Should pavers be repaired before sealing?
Yes. Sealer locks pavers in place as they are. Repairing first means you aren't sealing in a low spot or a trip hazard.
Can you match broken pavers?
Often, yes, using matching pavers you have stored or a close color from the manufacturer. Older or discontinued pavers can be harder to match, and we'll tell you up front.
How much does paver repair cost?
It depends on the size of the area and what's under it. We include repair pricing as a separate line on your written estimate, along with cleaning and sealing.
Do you guarantee your work?
Can you replace just one cracked paver?
Yes, if the surface around it is level. Several cracked pavers in one area, or cracks with sinking, usually point to a base problem that needs the area reset.
Will a new paver match the old ones?
It often looks brighter at first. Cleaning and sealing the whole area afterward helps blend the color.
