Thanks for choosing Paver Sealing Florida! Use this checklist to get your pavers, travertine, or pool deck ready. Questions? Call or text (813) 389-3683.
The Day Before
- Clear the area. Remove all vehicles, furniture, plants, and personal items from the pavers the day before your scheduled work. Place furniture and other items well away from the work area, with a clear path to the front yard.
- Move cars out of the garage or driveway and park well away from the work area.
- Plan for garage doors. If your garage door closes onto the pavers, let us know so we can arrange to leave it partly open while we seal.
- Reschedule lawn service for a day or two, since mowing and leaf blowers can blow grass and dust onto the fresh sealer.
- Weather: we watch the forecast and will contact you to reschedule if heavy rain is expected.
- Close windows and doors fully. We rinse walls, doors, patio doors, sliding door tracks, and windows as part of the cleaning. We are not responsible for failed window or door seals, so please check these areas for any moisture after the service.
Pool Deck Customers
- Leave the pool filter ON and turn water features OFF.
- Remove the automatic pool vacuum and its hose, if you have one.
- We'll handle the rest: we place a filter sock in the skimmer to catch any debris, and we vacuum the pool before sealing. The filter sock can be thrown away after 24 hours.
On Sealing Day
- Turn off your sprinkler system for the day we clean and seal.
- Keep children and pets out of the work area. Children and pets should not enter the work area for 24 hours after service.
After Sealing
| What | When |
|---|---|
| Return furniture, plants, and personal items | 24 hours after sealing |
| Children and pets in the work area | 24 hours after service |
| Drive or park on the pavers | 48 hours after sealing |
| Sand joints fully cured | 2 to 3 days |
| Rugs and doormats | 3 to 4 days |
| Routine pool cleaning | 1 to 2 days after we finish |
Allow extra curing time in cold or damp weather.
- Check window sills and door tracks for moisture after the service. A light wipe down may be needed.
- Protect the new finish. Rubber-backed mats aren't recommended in sunny areas because they can leave marks. Rubber feet on furniture and plastic trays under potted plants help prevent rust and mineral stains.
- Clean the pool. Vacuum the pool on bypass mode, and/or clean the filter if you use an automatic pool cleaner.
What if it rains?
First of all, no need to worry about it ruining the job. We use high-quality, water-based urethane sealers, not solvent-based sealers that can turn white from moisture. Our 2-part urethane sealer begins curing as soon as it's applied, with a typical drying time of 2 to 3 hours.
If excessive rain affects the finish, we'll gladly reseal it at no charge if necessary. See our Lifetime Labor Guarantee.
Customer Reviews: Sealing Day Prep
Sam and Steve are the best in the area at what they do. We used another paver company when we had to have our pavers repaired and they would only do it if they could seal it too. Long story short after peeling sealant and it being slippery as ice, we called Sam and Steve. They had to use a stripping compound to remove the old before sealing our pavers. Learn from us....use the best company in the area Paver Sealing Florida. Their workmanship and effort to detail is a joy to watch. You won't regret calling Sam and Steve.
I cannot say enough good things about this company. They truly are customer oriented. They scheduled an appointment for an estimate within a few days of us calling. They started on the paver sealing the following week, showed up early that morning and worked until 5pm. They took their time, paid attention to the little details and cleaned up around the doors. They wiped down the edge of the pool screen where some sealer had gotten on it. My pavers look brand new, and I could not be happier. Sam and Steve are both professional and courteous.
I’m so happy that I found Steven & Sam they are both incredibly knowledgeable. What I found most impressive is their honesty and reliability. They walked me through the project details and then they did exactly what they told me they would do. They showed up when they said they would and did a fantastic job. They both take great pride in their work and it shows. Companies like this are incredibly rare and hard to find. If you need your pavers sealed and done correctly, look no further and give them a call.
