Limestone and marble give Florida pool decks, patios, and entries a timeless look. They also need more care than concrete pavers. Both are calcium-based stones that soak up water, react to acids, and can be scratched or etched by the wrong cleaner or too much pressure.
Everything on this page is exterior work. We don't take on interior stone floors or kitchen and bathroom countertops.
Paver Sealing Florida cleans and seals limestone, marble, and other natural stone across Tampa Bay. The owners do every job, and we test every product on your stone before we treat the whole surface.
Why Limestone and Marble Need Special Care
- They're porous. Water, pool chemicals, and organic stains soak in.
- They react to acid. Vinegar, many rust removers, and some pool chemicals can etch dull spots.
- They're softer. High pressure can roughen the surface and wash out joints.
- They hold moisture. Shady, damp areas grow black mildew and algae.

Our Limestone and Marble Process
- Identify and test. We confirm the stone and finish and test cleaners and sealers on a small area.
- Stone-safe cleaning. Non-acidic cleaners, controlled pressure, and gentle agitation.
- Stain treatment. Mildew, rust, efflorescence, and mineral deposits are treated with stone-safe products.
- Penetrating sealer. A breathable sealer soaks in to repel water and salt without changing the look.
Where We Work
We care for limestone and marble pool decks, patios, walkways, front entries, steps, and coping. We also clean and seal sandblasted marble, travertine, and shellstone. Learn more on our marble paver sealing page or compare marble and stone sealing products.
Paver Sealing Florida is owner-operated from Brandon, and we clean and seal limestone and marble across the Tampa Bay area. Waterfront homes near the bay and the Alafia and Little Manatee Rivers see salt air and humidity that dull soft stone faster, while inland pool decks in Hillsborough and Polk counties fight hard-water spotting, mildew in the shade, and sprinkler rust. Wherever you are, Steve and Sam come out themselves to look at the stone, measure it, and give you a free written estimate.

Customer Reviews: Marble & Stone
Our travertine was stained and dull. The crew stripped the old layers off and resealed it. They did a great job. It looks like new!
We’re very impressed. A definitely 5-Star Customer Service and professionalism. Our travertine pool deck looks amazing. I highly recommend Paver Sealing Florida...You won't be disappointed.
5/5 Stars – Exceptional Quality and True Professionals!
Sam and Steve did an incredible job sealing our new travertine pool deck and lanai. From start to finish, their level of service, expertise, and attention to detail were second to none.
What really set them apart:
- Next-Level Thoroughness & Modern Solutions: Sam took a sample of our actual travertine, had Steve work on it off-site, and brought it back to us so we could evaluate the non-skid finish in advance of any work being done. They even brought in newer, cutting-edge products to give us the best and most up-to-date options on the market.
- Miracle Stain Removal: We had a stubborn box stain that my wife and I spent hours trying to remove using a professional product, with zero luck. Sam and Steve worked their magic, and the spot is now completely invisible!
- Seamless Experience: They were quick with pricing, prompt with scheduling, meticulous during the application, and left the entire area spotless when they finished.
They came highly recommended to us by a trusted friend, the owner of local pool company we’ve known for 50 years, and their results completely speak for themselves. If you need travertine sealing (pavers too) or restoration, look no further than Sam and Steve we will definitely be repeat customers!

Limestone and Marble FAQs
What's the difference between limestone, marble, and travertine?
All three are calcium-based natural stones. Limestone forms from compressed shells and sediment and is usually soft and porous. Marble is limestone that was transformed by heat and pressure, so it's denser with more veining. Travertine is a type of limestone formed around mineral springs, which is why it has natural holes.
Should outdoor limestone and marble be sealed in Florida?
Yes, in most cases. Both stones absorb water, pool chemicals, and stains. A breathable penetrating sealer reduces absorption, slows mildew, and makes cleaning easier without changing how the stone looks.
What sealer do you use on limestone and marble?
We use Trident penetrating sealers, such as water-based Break Wall and solvent-based Sea Wall, chosen for the stone and how much salt and water it sees. We don't use film-forming wet look sealers like Hurricane CAT 5 on marble, because Trident doesn't recommend it for marble or polished stone.
Will sealing change the color or finish of my stone?
Not with an invisible penetrating sealer. Your limestone or marble keeps its natural color and texture. If you'd like a richer color, we can discuss enhancing options and test a small area first.
How do you clean limestone and marble without damaging it?
These stones react to acids and can be etched or roughened by high pressure. We use stone-safe, non-acidic cleaners, controlled pressure, and soft agitation, and we test first on a small area.
Why does my limestone have black spots and streaks?
Usually mold, mildew, or algae growing in the stone's pores, especially in shade and near irrigation. Deep cleaning with stone-safe products removes most growth, and sealing slows it from coming back.
Can you remove rust stains from limestone or marble?
Often, yes, but it takes care because many rust removers are acidic and can etch these stones. We test a stone-safe treatment on a small area before treating the whole stain. See rust and stain removal.
What causes white haze or crust on my stone?
Usually efflorescence (mineral salts carried up by moisture) or dried pool water and salt. It needs to be removed with the right cleaner before sealing, or the sealer can trap it.
Is limestone or marble safe around a salt water pool?
It can be, with care. Salt water soaks in and dries into crystals that wear the surface over time. Sealing and regular fresh-water rinses help protect it.
How often should limestone and marble be resealed?
Usually every few years, depending on sun, salt, traffic, and cleaning. When water stops beading and darkens the stone quickly, it's time.
Will sealed marble or limestone be slippery?
Penetrating sealers don't leave a film, so they don't change the feel underfoot. For pool decks and walkways, we also offer a slip resistance add-on for an additional charge.
What should I avoid using on my limestone and marble?
Avoid vinegar, lemon-based cleaners, bleach-heavy mixes, and generic rust removers, which can etch or discolor the stone. Rinse pool water and spills promptly, and use cleaners labeled safe for natural stone.
Do you work on indoor marble floors or countertops?
No. We only clean and seal exterior surfaces: brick pavers, travertine, marble, and outdoor kitchens. We don't work on interior floors or indoor countertops.
Do you offer free estimates for limestone and marble?
Yes. We identify the stone, check its condition, and give you a free written estimate. Call or text (813) 389-3683 or request an estimate online.
